There Once Was An Old Lady….

Posted by: Sonya on: August 21, 2008

I walked into Walmart the other day and this older woman grabbed my arm….

woman: “Ma’m…are you…”

She had a very dramatic pause. I wasn’t quite sure what she was going to say, but then she finally said it….

woman: “Are you the lady that lives in a shoe?”

I smiled a big smile and said, “Yes I am!” (minus the “old” part!! ;) )

Answers To Frequently Asked Questions About Our Family

1. What do you drive? We drive a 15 passenger Turtle Top bus. It has much more room then a van and is great for traveling! 2. What type of education do your children receive? We have home schooled since the beginning. I have always been very eclectic in our approach. I mix and match to find what works for each child. 3. Are all the kids yours? God has blessed us with a quiver full through biological and adopted children. We love them all equally and are very blessed! 4. Where have you adopted from? We have done private, domestic (through the state) and international adoptions (Liberia). 5. Your done adding children to your family, right? We leave this open to God's calling on our life. We are currently in the process of bringing home Daniel. We are also prayerfully considering bringing home our boys younger siblings Emmanuel and Marienta. 6. Are you crazy? Nope! We walk by faith each day and trust our Heavenly Father to guide us on each new day's adventures! 7. What does your husband do for a living? We actually own our own business. God has truly blessed it. We run an independent diagnostic facility that performs secondary testing for Medicare and other insurance companies. My husband is able to very involved in our every day family life and help with appointments and runs to the grocery store! I really appreciate my husband and his love for God and his family! 8. How do you stay sane? I spend time with my Lord in His word and in prayer. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I also get a couple of hours once a week with another mom of many and we solve all the mommy problems of the world over a good cup of coffee and a sandwich! I also have an awesome church family who always knows when I can use a helping hand. 9. How do you find time for your husband? We have a cute little date table in our bedroom. It is not always practical for us to go out so we may have dinner and a movie in our bedroom. We get the kids to bed early and have our mommy and daddy date night! 10. When do you ever find time to blog? Late at night or early in the morning. Writing is a passion of mine and I try to make the time to do it. One day I hope to have the opportunity to write more and possibly speak!
