Samuel is playing soccer this year for the Piedmont Mavericks Home School soccer team.  We have started a blog with pictures of each game.  He is playing on a high school team at the age of 11.  He is doing well.  The team schedule is posted on there as well.  Hope you enjoy!!

A New Star In the House

Posted by: Sonya on: September 21, 2009

We are so proud of Anthony.  He auditioned for production this year at Clater Kaye Theatre Works and made it!!  It was his first real audition.  He had to type up a resume and submit a headshot.

I think he is such a handsome fellow…but of course I am a bit bias!
He is also a contract [...]

A Sweet Song From My Son

Posted by: Sonya on: September 21, 2009

I haven’t had any updates on our precious Daniel because there really hasn’t been a whole lot to report.  Daniel is still in Liberia.  We pray every day for our sweet son to come home.
Over the summer, the orphanage went through some changes due to new policies, rules and regulations put out by the government.  [...]

Father’s Kiss

Posted by: Sonya on: September 20, 2009

I love the story of the Prodigal Son.  Here is a son who had left home.  He wanted to try to spread his wings and fly, but instead ended up on a path that went wayward.  This son had nothing left to show for himself.  He was in the pit of despair.  Finally, he knew [...]

What’s In a Name?

Posted by: Sonya on: September 12, 2009

Each house here has a name. Serenity, Lazy Daze, Sunny Delight…So it would like be a dream to own a beach house. But the thing would be to give it a cool name that sounds “beachy” and glorifies God. Hmmm….Any ideas?

Here is the house we are staying at.

Another Day At the Beach

Posted by: Sonya on: September 12, 2009

I woke up this morning and Samuel was missing….

It didn’t take long to find him…He was down at the dock trying to catch some breakfast!  Samuel has enjoyed fishing.  So the day has been filled with fishing lessons, learning about the ocean, studying tides, learning about the animals in the ocean, reading about the creatures [...]

A Day At the Beach…

Posted by: Sonya on: September 11, 2009

We were so blessed this week!  Our family was invited to use a friend’s beach house for the weekend!  So here I sit at Sunset Beach, NC!  Once we got unpacked and settled and took care of a couple of injuries (cut feet from walking in the canal…nothing super glue couldn’t take care of) we [...]

Answers To Frequently Asked Questions About Our Family

1. What do you drive? We drive a 15 passenger Turtle Top bus. It has much more room then a van and is great for traveling! 2. What type of education do your children receive? We have home schooled since the beginning. I have always been very eclectic in our approach. I mix and match to find what works for each child. 3. Are all the kids yours? God has blessed us with a quiver full through biological and adopted children. We love them all equally and are very blessed! 4. Where have you adopted from? We have done private, domestic (through the state) and international adoptions (Liberia). 5. Your done adding children to your family, right? We leave this open to God's calling on our life. We are currently in the process of bringing home Daniel. We are also prayerfully considering bringing home our boys younger siblings Emmanuel and Marienta. 6. Are you crazy? Nope! We walk by faith each day and trust our Heavenly Father to guide us on each new day's adventures! 7. What does your husband do for a living? We actually own our own business. God has truly blessed it. We run an independent diagnostic facility that performs secondary testing for Medicare and other insurance companies. My husband is able to very involved in our every day family life and help with appointments and runs to the grocery store! I really appreciate my husband and his love for God and his family! 8. How do you stay sane? I spend time with my Lord in His word and in prayer. The joy of the Lord is my strength. I also get a couple of hours once a week with another mom of many and we solve all the mommy problems of the world over a good cup of coffee and a sandwich! I also have an awesome church family who always knows when I can use a helping hand. 9. How do you find time for your husband? We have a cute little date table in our bedroom. It is not always practical for us to go out so we may have dinner and a movie in our bedroom. We get the kids to bed early and have our mommy and daddy date night! 10. When do you ever find time to blog? Late at night or early in the morning. Writing is a passion of mine and I try to make the time to do it. One day I hope to have the opportunity to write more and possibly speak!
